Our Services
Rise and Shine Therapy is an early intervention service offering Occupational Therapy to children (0 to 12 years) and families across Singleton and the wider Hunter region.
We provide a family-centered and evidence-based service that is committed to supporting child development, wellbeing and participation in meaningful everyday activities.
Assessment
Understanding your child’s strengths, interests and challenges is the first step in providing effective Occupational Therapy support. Our assessment process is designed to build a clear picture of your child’s development, daily functioning and participation in everyday activities. Assessment may include:
Information gathering from key stakeholders (caregivers, teachers, service providers)
Standardised (formal) assessment
Developmental screening
Play-based clinical observation
Goal Driven Therapy
We offer one-on-one Occupational Therapy sessions focused on helping your child develop the skills they need to participate more confidently in everyday life.
Therapy sessions are tailored to your child’s goals and may focus on areas such as:
Motor skills
Self-care skills
School readiness
Emotional regulation
Sensory processing
Connecting with others
Play skills
Services are available face-to-face in the community (e.g. home or school) or via telepractice where appropriate.
Indirect Support
Indirect support (also known as non face-to-face) is any work that we complete outside of therapy sessions. This time is essential to create an individualised plan for your child and write any necessary reports and documentation.
Parent/Caregiver Online Coaching
Families across the Hunter region are currently experiencing long wait times for paediatric Occupational Therapy services. If your child is on a public waitlist or you are not able to access ongoing private therapy, parent coaching sessions can provide guidance and practical strategies in the meantime.
These sessions are designed to support parents and caregivers to problem-solve everyday challenges and build confidence in supporting their child’s development within the home environment.
Parent coaching is collaborative and practical. Together we explore ways to embed supportive strategies within your child’s existing routines, play, and daily activities.
What the session includes
Online Parent Coaching Session -$85
45-minute video consultation with an Occupational Therapist
Collaborative discussion of your child’s strengths and challenges
Practical strategies tailored to your family’s routines
A brief written summary of key strategies following the session
Important information
Parent coaching sessions provide guidance and practical strategies for caregivers but do not replace a full Occupational Therapy assessment or ongoing therapy services. If your child requires formal assessment, reports, or ongoing therapy intervention, a standard session will be recommended.
